| Ilya combines a sense of technique with an eye for light and his interest in people. People set against a background of their struggle to find a way in life are frequently the subject of his photos. After his study at the KABK (Royal Academy of Arts) in The Hague, Netherlands, he worked as a trainee for Amnesty International and then settled as an independent. With his series of portraits titled People and Human Rights he won the silver camera award for portraits in 2001. Ilya van Marle Photography |
